Lyndon is a town in Caledonia County, Vermont, United States. The population was 5,448 at the 2000 census. It is the home of Lyndon State College. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 103.1 km (39.8 mi). 103.0 km (39.8 mi) of it is land and 0.1 km (0.04 mi) of it (0.10%) is water. As of the census2 of 2000, there were 5,448 people, 2,031 households, and 1,326 families residing in the town. The population density was 52.9/km (137.0/mi). There were 2,190 housing units at an average density of 21.3/km (55.1/mi). The racial makeup of the town was 97.76% White, 0.26% African American, 0.50% Native American, 0.62% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.17% from other races, and 0.68% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.44% of the population.
